Dog Park Series: Cherry Creek State Park

Next in our Denver area tour of great Off Leash Dog Parks, let's visit Cherry Creek State Park together. This huge off leash resource is a favorite of many in our area with much to offer! Let's meet in the main lot by the horse ranch and do a dog walk as a group. It's a modest loop and dogs will have a chance to swim, so be prepared.

Since it's a state park, you'll need passes to get in. We can coordinate efforts for those who don't have a pass. Please note your pass status and number of dogs in your RSVP and we can try carpooling  group members in.

***We've had a history of significant "No Shows" for previous outings, please be mindful of the group and RSVP only if you are serious about coming. Keep your RSVP up to date if you need to cancel. I can be reached on my cell at[masked] if you need to update me.***

Thanks!

Thank you Steve for coming out for the hike despite the last minute meeting area change. I enjoyed our abbreviated walk and conversation and look forward to meeting up with our dogs again.

There was a problem with the usual entrance to the Dog Park. Attendees are asked to enter Cherry Creek State Park at:
    South Parker and Easy Lehigh.

Would be interested in coming but do not have a park pass. Anyone who does be willing to pick me and my rottie mix (only 50 lbs) up? Could meet up in the parking lot next to Pet Palace (roughly Parker and Quincy...near 24hour fitness and dollar tree)?

Oops. Thanks for replying. The day pass is $9 but there's an additional $2 fee for the dog park. As much as I'd love to finally meet up with everyone I can't spend $11 for an hour at the park. :)

We'll keep trying to make the next group

Hi Everyone, Looks like we're going to have a beautiful day for a walk. A bit muddy so plan appropriate foot wear and for muddy cars. I will be at the trail entrance in my cowgirl hat, with E.K our black Aussie. I assume everyone who's RSVP'd has park passes?

We have 3 members who expressed interest in Carpooling in the comments below (Shawna, Esther & Cindy), If you can help them out, please post or email them directly.

Otherwise I look forward to seeing everyone at the park. If your plans changed and you can't attend, please update your RSVP or call me at[masked]-6656. Thanks!

I was at CCSP yesterday morning and it was a perfect morning! Yes, the trails will be muddy at 6 pm . See you there.

With the recent snow, best to prepare for muddy trails. Also, sometimes they close the main entrance to the dog park after a major snowfall due to erosion of the dirt road.

This makes me very sad!! We have agility class on Wednesday. We may have to play hookey on of these Wednesdays so we can go. What a great idea, Thanks!!

I have 2 Maltese. I am concerned about meeting at 6:00 p.m. which is prime hunting time in an area that is know for having numerous coyotes especially if I take them off leash.

Hi Tamara & Annie, if you choose not to let your dogs off leash, that's perfectly OK. I keep my little senior on leash all the time. We'll also be walking together as a group with plenty of people, dogs and noise. I'm sure the littler dogs will be safe.
