A Downton Abbey inspired vest in dark blue, red, and grey merino. It has a faire isle design on the front and open sides.
Knit. I've tried crochet, but it doesn't appeal to me as much.
Oh god, my favorite project was actually a huge flop. I tried to make a jackelope, and was doing alright until I knit one of the hind legs upside down, the neck too long, and the front legs awkwardly low and close together. It's still sitting under my desk mournfully, unfinished. It seems a bit futile to make antlers for it at this point.
I can't remember the first time I knit. I remember shortly after though, I was somewhere between four and six years old. My mom was trying to get me to purl and I was not having it. So I'd say about ten years.
No single memory, just a general feeling of contentment. I associate knitting with good people, good audio books, and Christmas. I also know I've hit a milestone in my relationships when I start knitting for them.
I always have a project on me: when watching a movie, hanging out with friends, attending a particularly boring lecture . . . Knitting is something the women in my family bond over, and I'd love to expand my knitting circle.
