Socks from the yarn we hand-died at Katha's! ("Socks are only physically small. By stitch count, they are immense.” ― Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much)
Piglet hat for baby Halloween costume. Inventing the ears was fun!
I learned to crochet first (11-12 years ago) and then to knit (9-10 years ago). I go through phases of rabidly consuming yarn followed by fairly long dry spells. With two little kids, these days I'm lucky if I touch yarn between Thursdays.
My grandmother was a masterful crocheter and as a child I was endlessly fascinated with a blanket we had of hers. My sister and mother-in-law both love to knit, and I spent many snowy winter days happily crafting with one or both of them.
