SnB Yarnworkers Meetup July 14, 2013

Hello, We are in the Michael Donald Glass Room, Red paws.

Summer is upon us, and you are either an air-condition lover or the hotter the better.  It does not matter when you love yarn.  Believe it or not, now is the time to get holiday items started, and those winter items like throws and sweaters.  What do you plan to get out for holidays and birthdays?

And with most of us doing more activity now it is a good time to review some yarn workers hygiene.

Keep hydrated, even in air-conditioned areas it is easy to get dehydrated.  Believe it or not that a pinch of salt into a glass of water will help your body retain more.

Stretch, look online for hand, wrist, arm and shoulder stretches to keep our yarn working to the max. And don't forget to add the rest of your body for other summer time activities.

And always keep a good idea of what you want to do, the time to do it, and your current skill level before you start a project.  Those lovely lace or detailed patterns may make a beautiful bedspread, but be honest: can you easily make it while learning new stitches by the August-September birth/marriage/birthday/anniversary/etc.? The planning of new projects is more than calculating yardage and gauge.

And a note about Parking at Como during Summer. It is hard.  Be prepared to drive around to find a spot, or look at the map of Como I loaded here to see where else you may park.  It also may be a bit of a walk back and forth, but the building is easily accessed.

We hope to see you!
