Professor Weinstein is a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University. He is recognized internationally for his work in signal processing and digital communication. In addition, he is a research associate in the Electronics Research Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In 1994, Professor Weinstein founded "Libit" which developed modems for fast communication. Weinstein served as CEO and President of the company. In June 1999, "Libit" was purchased by Texas Instruments for $365-million.
In 2006, formed with Ariel Maislos and his partner in "Libit", Dr. Ofir Shalvi, established the start-up "Anobit", of which Weinstein served as CEO and chairman. In December 2011, the company "Anobit" was sold to Apple Inc. for $400-million.
