Ulistac Natural Area, 40 acres of open space that showcases seven distinctive natural habitats, opened in Santa Clara in 2001 after months of volunteer efforts to restore California native vegetation and preserve wildlife habitat.
We will be doing some fun work like planting new plants, feeding old ones, watering etc. Please wear long pants, closed shoes, and a hat. Bring water and a snack.
After this we will end with a relaxing meditation !
Here are a few testimonials from some of the "wilderness restorers" -
"Its a great place for california native plant restoration and wildlife/bird watching. I have been volunteering at the Ulistac Natural Area, since 2011. I love the plants. UNA is not for everyone, but it has a sense of wilderness. They recently got a grant from the Santa Clara Valley Water District to bring back a pieces of the seasonal wetland. It is a secret garden." - Kristal
"I think this is the perfect place for me to explore my wild side, so on a Sunday morning, I came here and went for a run." - Peggy
