The Holiday season is a wonderful time to share healthy options with family, friends, coworkers and our community. Chef Angela Newsom of Detroit Evolution will share and prepare a special holiday menu including:

* Roasted Tofu and Winter Vegetable Medley Stuffed Pumpkin served with Sesame Ginger Miso Sauce
* Garlicky Steamed Collard Greens with Crispy Fried Onions over Brown Rice
* Vegan Apple-Cinnamon Cream Cheese Phyllo Pockets with fresh Cranberry Compote

At the end of class we'll mingle and enjoy the company of like-minded people while we sample all the delicious dishes. Angela will be on hand to answer any questions you may have on how to prepare your favorite holiday dishes in a healthy and humane way!

Chef Angela Newsom is a vegan/raw food chef and instructor. She specializes in using food as a tool for healing the mind, body and spirit. After witnessing a long history of serious health problems within her family, she sought information needed to create change for them, herself and others. She obtained her technical skills at Schoolcraft's Culinary Arts program, but found her true passion for food preparation through independent study, working in various health-food stores, and taking classes with groups like the Creative Health Institute. Angela is driven by a desire to improve the health and well being of the Detroit community through her food and kitchen classes offered at the Detroit Evolution Laboratory in Detroit.
