I invite you to join me for a new and different type of class where we combine yoga and meditation together. We'll begin with deep breathing exercises to get settled in and centered, followed by some very gentle yoga to stretch and release the tension from the body. Then for the last half hour we will sit in meditation and practice concentration and mindfulness by being attentive and present with the mind/body. We will conclude with a brief group discussion. Also featured will be some diverse relaxing music in the background to put us in a pleasant state of mind. Here is what one student commented after experiencing such a class: "It was very relaxing. The stretching exercises were simple but at the same time they were very effective. After the exercises the meditation couldn’t be easier. I think it was the perfect combination." Traditionally, yoga was a system created to experience oneness and harmony through meditation practices. The postures were then added to help prepare the mind/body for the end of meditating better. And since many of you benefit from both disciplines, I feel that their combination in one class is exactly what we need to elevate our practice. If you have never attended a meetup with me, the first class is free. Please see my website below for the regular prices. There is free parking next to the building on the corner of Summerhill and Cote-des-Neiges. If you are taking the metro, it is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from Guy station. Also, for your comfort do not eat for up to an hour before the class and wear something loose. If you have any questions, you can contact me by email or phone. Thanks.
