RSVP PolicyImagine you organized a movie night for five acquaintances and everyone agreed to meet at the entrance to the theater. Upon reaching the theater you wait in the lobby for a half hour to rendezvous with the others, but three of them don't show up. The worst part is they didn't notify you of their absence in advance.
It's likely that you would feel frustrated because: you waited around for 30 minutes, spent your cash on a ticket only to see a fraction of the movie, and volunteered your
time and money to host an event for potential new friends who didn't bother to notify you of their absence. In the end, the fun movie night you expected was not enjoyable at all.
Other members and organizers have experienced a similar situation in nearly all previous Meetups. At one particular event, no one except the Organizer showed up! Therefore, no-shows are not tolerated.
To ensure a positive experience for all YBB members and organizers, three no-shows results in a reminder email to change RSVPs for future events. More than three no-shows may lead to removal from the group.Members joined this Meetup and it was created because we want to spend time
with you. So, maybe an emergency occurs or you're not interested in a particular event anymore. It's all good and,
out of courtesy, change your RSVP at least an hour prior to the event. It makes a
huge difference.
Thank you, and we look forward to meeting up with you in the future!
Respectfully,
Young Blacks of the Bay
