Behavior-Driven Development – Working from the outside in

Marc Karbowiak and Stuart Ashman will be introducing you to the practice of Behavior-Driven Development. BDD is an agile methodology that works from the outside in, developing software by defining business values (behaviors) then writing the code to meet those specified behaviors.

Marc Karbowiak, Development Manager at RSI Group

Marc Karbowiak began his career in IT by starting a company producing software for cinemas. Marc then worked in the cinema software field for about 13 years in various roles. Since then, he has worked as a developer and team lead in companies of various sizes and is currently helping the RSI team with their transition to agile.

Stuart Ashman, Director of QA at Vision Critical

Stuart Ashman has worked in a variety of roles over the past 20+ years, almost all of which had testing or QA as part of them. Most recently, Stuart was Director of QA for a cloud software company called Joyent and, before that, he helped transition the Vancouver Sophos team to agile (as the QA & Release Manager), then spent 6 years learning how to grow and improve on that.
