PASADHARMA is a Pasadena-based Buddhist meditation circle for seekers, skeptics, and practitioners on a quest in search of spiritual meaning. Why? Serenity and insight or kindness and wisdom are available to all who search for freedom and happiness.
Our quest as a sangha, supportive spiritual community, is to engage with teachers from the major Buddhist schools -- South Asian Theravada, Far East Zen and Mahayana, Himalayan Vajrayana, and American Vipassana -- to inspire, motivate, and learn potent meditation techniques and best practices.
Participate in group sitting classes and thereby develop a strong and independent practice. Donations are accepted, but it's free, and all are welcome. Our organizers serve in the spirit of making "the Dharma," the historical Buddha's Teachings, open to everyone. This is the Path to Freedom, the Path of Purification.
Meditation cushions, firm chairs, wide sofas, and reading materials as well as gluten-free, vegan refreshments.
Come as you are: dress casually in loose, comfortable clothes for indoor sitting and mindful outdoor walking in the garden and pine forest environment next to Old Town Pasadena and the Rose Bowl.
Our practice-hall is warm and inviting, heated, well ventilated, and air conditioned. Beginners are always welcome because, by arriving 30 minutes early (at 6:30 pm), private beginner's meditation instruction is provided while we set up the sacred space and laugh, stretch with yoga, and settle in.
Find with your tribe, your sangha (community of fellow practitioners), friends, and companions on the path. Maybe even meet your soul mate because we always leave time for snacking and socializing. Delicious vegan, gluten-free refreshments are served.
