Establishing the Successful Start-Up

In today's unforgiving new venture environment, investors and analysts have
little tolerance for poor product concepts, weak management teams and empty
value propositions. The rules of the startup game have changed, and in order to
win the entrepreneur must manage within a focused, disciplined framework of
critical success factors. What are the secrets of establishing the successful
start up? How does one find business opportunities, and how and where does one
fund them? What is a winning business plan?

Prof. Dr. Liora Katzenstein will be speaking to entrepreneurs in Winterthur from
16.30 - 18-00 on Saturday 19th June. This will be followed by a chance to
network over a drink with other expat entrepreneurs here in Switzerland .

Professor Katzenstein's involvement with early-stage technology enterprises
spans more than two decades, and includes roles as an investor, advisor, active
board member, and founder of a number of successful ventures. Prof.
Katzenstein's main focus in her academic endeavors has been entrepreneurship
education. In addition to numerous publications, she has lectured widely this
topic at leading universities and management training institutions, and major
technology based corporations. Since 1996, she has served as the founding
president of ISEMI – The Institute for the Study of Entrepreneurship and
Management of Innovation. Prof. Katzenstein holds a Masters in Law and Diplomacy
from Tufts University , and a PhD in International Economics from the Graduate
Institute of International Studies at the University of Geneva . She was awarded
a visiting doctoral scholarship to the Harvard Graduate School of Business
Administration.
