Saw this on G+, I guess Michael Meier and other people that got excited by his presentation would enjoy it: http://gobot.io/blog/2014/09/24/run-golang-on-the-intel-edison-with-gobot/

Hi Silvan. I will ask around and also on the "G+" Google+ group; perhaps there are more Gophers one might think :-)

I would be very interested. I did some light searching on Go user groups in Basel/Zurich but not much showed up. Would be cool if we could organize something.

That was a great first Go Meetup and inspiring to chat about Go with enthusiasts in real.
It would be great to have perhaps a more regular "Go Meetup" near/in Zurich. Anyone interested?

I put the slide source code plus the Googly Gopher on Github:

Thank you for showing up :) I would also like to thank Sidnei for organising this thing and Francesc for his nice talk!

Francesc, it was good presentation, easy understanding. I will check how to make it works and that would improve the performance on my business as well.
Michael, For me personally. this is first time to learn programming with hardware. I hope I can make the cartoon making eyes rolling one day:-)
    I like so much:-)
Thank you both of you and google that have very good knowledge sharing.

Great presentations from both presenters. I liked the comparison to Go as it made it easier to see both the similarities and differences to a dynamic language.

Argh, if I knew of that event sooner I would have loved to go (...) but it is at too short notice (so, next time!).

    Hello everyone. Here's an update:

In addition to Campoy, we'll have Michael Meier presenting some of his work with low-level device communication. We can probably take one more presenter for 20-30 mins.

As you arrive at the reception for building 110, there will be badges already printed and waiting for you. Some are missing surname here on Meetup, so could you please update your profile to have a surname or reply in comments?

    Benoit need surname
    Denis need surname
Michi +1 need surname and full name for the +1
    Maryam need surname
    Volker need surname
    Stefan need surname

There will be food and drinks available. Since we're not sure everyone can make it at 5:30, we're thinking of starting with socializing and have the talks start from 6:30. Thoughts?

Starting at 6:30 sounds like a good idea to me as I don't work in Zürich.

An update: we're mostly confirmed for Monday, Apr 14th, 5:30pm to 8pm at Google Zürich. Please RSVP ASAP so we can schedule an appropriately sized room and catering. There are likely going to be pizza and beer available.

As I am a low-level hacker, most stuff I have is pretty low level. Depending on the date and time I would be willing to share something. The following two of my projects might be of interest:

I have Go libraries for working with serial ports, I2C buses and their devices, for example EEPROMs. These libraries are quite demo-able.

I also have libraries for writing Ethercat masters, but I think it would not make sense to show this to a crowd without a background in field busses.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
