Don Giovanni live from the Royal Opera House at the cinema

  • February 12, 2014 · 6:45 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Every month, the Royal Opera House broadcasts one show live to cinemas all over the world. In February, it will be Don Giovanni. It will be in the original language with German subtitles. For more details: http://www.kitag.com/Programm/Film.aspx?EventID=761688732

Tickets with the carte bleue are CHF 30, and we have reserved enough tickets for everyone who has signed up (plus some extras, actually).

We can meet at 6.45 in front of the cinema, buy the tickets, go for a drink and then enjoy a hopefully great show.

Please do keep your reservation up-to-date, as we will only actually buy and pay for the tickets for those who are actually there when we get them and let go of any additional reservations.

Sorry to have to change my RSVP at the last minute... I'm in a meeting that can go on for a long time... I'll try to make it, but I don't want to take the spot for someone else if I can't.

Looking forward to tonight, for Da Ponte and Mozart's The Rake Punished or Don Giovanni, and I hope to be there a little before 6:45 to checkout the merchandise and popcorn for later.

I was disappointed to see the number of people attending "dropping like flies" to lowly single digits according to the emails I've been receiving today, until I realised the "unique" way the event is publicised by Britta in at least three Meetup groups - LOL :-)

    • Britta

I did publish in 3 groups, because not everyone is a member of every meetup group, and this event addresses several overlapping interests. It would have been a shame for either group not to be able to attend just because they were not aware of the event.

    Looking forward to it.
Where do we meet exactly at 6.45?
I've never been to Corso before.

    • Britta

We will meet in front of the entrance. Unless it is raining cats and dogs, in which case we will meet right behind the door, on the inside. I am quite sure we will be the biggest English speaking group around, very soon :-)

    Hi Britta,

Stupid question, I don't remember when I replied if I was in the first 10. Do I need to buy my ticket from my side? Really looking forward :)

    February 11

    • Britta

We now have 25 tickets and 21 participants, so everyone is all set - and there is room for more. We will start off by buying the best seats (the ones I reserved) and then work our way through as people show up. We will only buy tickets for those who show up on time, though.

      February 11

    • Britta

In short: No, do not buy a ticket individually.

I have a carte bleue. Tell me if I should reserve additional seats (and tell me the seatnumbers & row of the already reserved seats)...

    • Charles

      Hi Britta, I reserved 6 places (row 4, places 13 to 19).

      February 9

    • Britta

Hi, Charles, Great - I have re-opened the RSVP's. Curious to see how many people we will eventually be! Isn't it great to live in a place with so many culturally interested people?!

      February 9

  • Britta

    Dear all
We have 20 tickets. I have also put this on the go classical meetup, and both groups together now add up to 20 people. So, I will close RSVP's. Of course, you can still come, but I cannot guarantee a ticket.

I therefore ask everyone to really keep his/her reservation up to date. It would be a shame if people did not sign up and then, people did not show up.

We will get the tickets for those who are there at 6.50 and then leave for a drink. Any additional tickets will be lost.

If you have any questions, please post a message.

    Best
