Nice people and good atmosphere! I really liked the discussion about the book and the chat around literature, books, writers! :-)

Excellet. Friendly, welcoming people with lots to share and discuss. I hope I'll be able to speak to the other side of the table as well next time :)

It was great to meet everybody, and even though we didn't focus on the book the whole time, I had a great evening =).

First time I've joined this club's event but I plan to join the other too - and I think it's a good idea to add some book-based movies to the events because for books I'm sadly a bit too slow with preparation... ;)

I am happy to have found such a diverse group and I look forward to the next books, and mostly to the discussions. Have a good autumn!

Thank you for the interesting discussions. I enjoyed meeting you all. For those of you who are interested, perhaps the following information may be useful. At the Zürich James Joyce Foundation in the "Strauhof" there are two reading groups on "Ulysses" and one on "Finnegans Wake". They are run in English by Fritz Senn, who is a world authority on Joyce. Next Tuesday, at 17.30, one group is beginning "Ulysses" again. Highly recommended.

What a great group! Everyone was actively involved in the discussion, offered interesting and unique opinions, and were genuinely some of the nicest people I've met in Zürich. This particular meeting was smaller than the usual get together, but I imagine it's even more of the same when others join in. The members took care to make sure everyone had a chance to speak but didn't back down from offering their own perspectives, even when they differed from others, and that made it especially comfortable for me to do the same. I'd highly advise this group for anyone interested in discussing literature and meeting interesting people in this lovely city!

The group was great! I do hope to come back again for other meetups. Sadly I won't make the may meetup, because I will be attending a workshop during that week.

... very interesting group of people with a common denominator...= the love of a good book. I personally enjoyed the discussions and the difference of opinions about the book. It is that what makes things interesting...

Comment on Alex's proposal: my Berne club looked at it two years ago, and also made a boat trip from Luzern to Weggis which was featured in Clemens' travels, and up the Rigi, which was the subject of one of his funniest stories. We were guided by Albert Locher, who has written two books on Clemens' travels in Europe, he lives in Jegensdorf near Bern. ( Albert is giving a open presentation with apero on 23 April in Schönbühl - you are of course welcome to attend. "Vom vergessenen Dorf ins Paradies - Mark Twains Reisen durch die Schweiz (1867, 1878, 1891 und 1897)". I am also sure Albert would be honoured to visit the Zurich book club and talk about this, if you like I will ask him. We just looked at "Alice in Wonderland"! Graham
