Special Zydeco workshop coming to Houston on June 1st.
Zydeco Instructor Greg Benusa is traveling through Houston on Saturday June 1st and will be hosting a 2 hour Zydeco workshop from 2-4pm.
2:00pm-3:00pm - Intermediate moves after a quick review of the basics of Zydeco
3:00pm-4:00pm - Covering Intermediate and Advanced moves.
We can also do a quick review of Zydeco basics right at 2pm. During the workshop we will cover the styles and moves are seen at bars and festivals through out Texas & Louisiana as well as moves from the east and west coast which involve more turns.
Videos - If the studio works for showing video we will also be showing video clips showing examples of various styles as well as other Zydeco festival video clips.
Free video clip of moves - If there is someone in the group who would like to partner with Greg he can shoot a slow demo of the moves covered during the workshop and send this private video clip to everyone in the class for future reference. (sorry no video from others but I am happy to send you a youtube video clip showing the moves to your email address I can get at the workshop)
Cost $10 for 1hr or $15 for 2hrs. (this will help pay for rental of the dance studio and gas money on my Zydeco road trip:)

Greg Benusa has been teaching Zydeco for over 10 years at many festivals and dance studios across the country. Zydeco Accordion: I will have one of Leroy Thomas's accordions at the workshop and after the workshop if interested your welcome to test it out. I can share some basics of playing as I have been working on some basic tunes. This is a Gabbanelli Bf accordion he traveled with over 10 years ago for many many gig's..
