Social Login and Security by Tharindu Edirisinghe (Senior Software Engineer, Platform Security Team, WSO2)
With the increased popularity and usage of social media, most of the 3rd party websites facilitate you to use your social ID (eg: facebook, twitter, linkedin etc.) at the time of login. This increases the usability in security heavily as you do not need to maintain different user accounts and remember different credentials for each website. Along with the benefits of social login, there are security considerations that everybody should pay attention to. During this session, we will discuss how to integrate social login to your websites as a developer, the technology behind social login and as users how we can safely use our social identity in 3rd party websites.
