Hello Digital Ladies!
After a little summer break, we're excited to kick off the new school year with a 10 Digital Ladies event looking at social responsibility within product design.
Technology can change our habits in a matter of days. Last year an average Brit checked their phone every 4.3 minutes, according to Tecmark. The recent success of Pokemon Go got millions of people in the street in a matter of days. Is the lifestyle changing power of technology always used for good, and should it be?
Entrepreneur, coach, start-up mentor and Huffington Post blogger Anastasia Dedyukhina (http://www.consciously-digital.com/founders-story.html) thinks that it's time for the tech industry to become socially responsible. In the middle of a successful international career in digital marketing gave up her smartphone to start a digital detox business Consciously Digital (http://www.consciously-digital.com/). In her talk, Anastasia will share the latest neuroscience insights into how technology impacts our health, productivity and relationships, discuss the issue of ethics in building habit-forming products and make some suggestions of how it can be used for good.
As usual this will be followed by drinks and discussion and a chance to network. Numbers are limited to keep the event small and intimate - 'networking suitable for introverts' as we like to call it!
