20s / 30s Social Group Pages

This group is for professionals. As a professional we expect you know how to act appropriately. Below are our Policies so there is no confusion regarding the group's expectations of you.

$1 Membership donation at your 1st event To defray the monthly fee that Meetup charges to the 20/30s Social Group, we ask that each member contribute $1 the first time they attend a Meetup with us. Just $1, that you can hand to whomever may be the Host for that event. On your 2nd and future attendances you are not required to contribute any $ to the group. The Organizer and Hosts volunteer their time & effort to research and plan events, so $1 one time is completely reasonable to keep the webpage bill paid. We want this to be a self-sustained web-based community of fun seekers, therefore if attendance or donations drop too low then 20/30s Social Group may disband.

We want this group to be a Drama-Free Zone. Therefore, it is at the discretion of the Organizer/Host if they feel your behavior warrants removing you from the group. If you are offensive, or disrespectful, or cause drama, you may be Removed or Banned from our Meetup group.

RSVPs "No Shows" and frequent last minute RSVP changes aren't cool. Generally, 3 No Shows will mean removal from this group. We understand emergencies, but be sure of your schedule before you RSVP "yes" to an event. Multiple No Shows will cause you to be removed from the group without further warning. If your RSVP/Attendance record has No Shows, or multiple last-minute RSVP changes from Yes to No, then we may move your future "Yes" RSVPs to the Waiting List to free up the spot for members with cleaner records.

Do not show up for events without RSVPing.

Dating Dating and socializing are fine, but we are not a dating service, so if your primary interest is looking for dates then please join a different group. If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable at an event, tell them nicely that you are not interested, and if they persist then report them to meetup.com

Don't share your personal contact information with anyone unless you are certain you don't mind them contacting you. Otherwise you may open yourself up to unwanted communications.

Please do not Greet, or message, or email members that you have not met in person.

Attire Gym clothing, sports gear, and shabby or dirty apparel is inappropriate attire for our events. The obvious exception is when we hold outdoor events such as a hikes, bicycle rides, picnics, etc. If you have any questions about appropriate attire for an event, contact the event host.

Bring $ Cash Money No plastic. Credit cards or Debit cards are not acceptable for our events. Bring cash (including some small bills) to our events.

Expect to pay what is customary in terms of tax and gratuity for food service at our dining events. The sales tax in New Jersey is currently 7% and gratuity for large parties is usually 18% at minimum. All members will be expected to pay their share according to customary rates. (Please note that rates may change depending upon where we dine. e.g. NYC has a higher sales tax than New Jersey).

For large events your individual total may be multiplied by a rate of 1.3, by the event host, to cover tax and gratuity. This will ensure that the bill total is covered and that no member will have to cover the expense of others who may have forgotten to add these things into their individual total. When calculating a bill we always round up to the nearest dollar. We do this to help simplify an already complex situation.

Safety Please let someone know if you leave the event early so we're not worrying where you are.

Remember that with all Meetup groups your safety is ultimately your responsibility. The group organizers and event hosts cannot be held responsible for anything that happens to you at Meetup events.

*** If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable at an event, tell them nicely but firmly that you are not interested, and if they persist then report them to meetup.com ***

Final Word

This group is "staffed" by a volunteer Organizer and Event Hosts who have final say in all matters (even if the situation isn't covered here).

Thanks for your time! Hope you join! Hope you attend! Hope you Host!
