Hey All! Every 3 months I will be doing installments of a series of events I'm calling "INTERLUDES." The idea is to have something that will break up our normal gatherings with something a little off-kilter and fun. First up is PigPen Theater Co. This looks to be an interesting show of musicians/actors that have been gathering awards for their work. The music and theatrical style seems folky and a somewhat bluegrassy. Their Bio is below.

PigPen Theatre Co. began creating their unique brand of music, film, and theatre as freshman at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in 2008. They have since produced their original plays Off-Broadway and at regional theaters around the country – earning them critic’s picks from The New York Times, Time Out New York, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Boston Globe, and many more, ranking them in the top ten theatrical events of 2011, 2012, and 2013. They were also the first group to win the NYC Fringe Festival’s top honor for a play two years in a row in 2010 and 2011. Their plays include: “The Nightmare Story”, “The Mountain Song”, and “The Old Man and The Old Moon”.
Their debut indie-folk album, “Bremen”, was featured by American Songwriter and was named #10 album of the year in The Huffington Post’s 2012 Grammy preview. Their follow up EP, “The Way I’m Running”, was released on October 8th, 2013, and was premiered by American Songwriter. PigPen is thrilled to be working with Writers House, one of the world’s leading young adult literary agencies, to develop their debut children’s novel. They are currently on tour as a band and a theatre company.
