Code-In Open Source Contest and Education workshop
Details
FOSSASIA is running Google Code-in as a mentoring organization and we are excited to bring the contest to Dubai. The program introduces pre-university students (ages 13-17) to open source software development.
Please join us to learn more about the program as a parent, teacher, technologist, developer, maker or student! We will show you some samples during the meetup. You can also check it out before online if you like: https://codein.withgoogle.com/organizations/fossasia/

Code-in is often the first experience many students have with open source, the contest is designed to make it easy for students to jump right in. FOSSASIA provides a list of tasks for students to work on.
A unique part of the contest is that each task has mentors from the organisation assigned should students have questions or need help along the way.
Students choose tasks they wish to work on from the following categories: coding, documentation, training, outreach, research, quality assurance and user interface. Students earn prizes for their successful completion of the tasks.
