What brings you to our group?

Meeting a few key people can change your life! I met some body who turned me on to back country snow boarding and now I look forward to this every year and also some one told me about how cool it is to sea kayak the everglades and now that is a must do for me every year. Maybe I can be that person for you or perhaps we will simply find that we are two peas in a pod. Happiness is sometimes shared! Of course it's a lot safer when back country outings are concerned as well. I hope to find more people who will join me every year out west some where. I drive out for 6 weeks plus and follow the snow, the past two seasons I got an epic pass and hung out in Colorado. Where ever I go, I am always looking to keep costs low and to find the best runs the resorts have to offer on good snow days.

Are you a Skier or Snowboarder?

I started as a little skier at Big Boulder, @ 26 when it was time to upgrade my skis, I decided to get the entire board set up and figure it out. I never downhill skied again. I love boarding, the sensation of going down the mountain sideways is awesome. I believe it really does require less talent then skiing. When going for a month plus ones feet and ankles start to hurt so to remedy this I back country board or go to nordic parks and x/c ski. I have been exploring the 10th mountain division hut system on x/c cross country skis.

Do you have a favorite resort and if so where?

Whistler is killer! Revelstoke BC is great! Jackson Hole is awesome too! I have so many great memories of Vail it's been hard to leave these past two years. All of these resorts are all near great Back country terrain. Whistler has so much off of the backside from the peak chairs and offers back country ski passes that get you out there just right and of course the various heli ski outfits that price comparable to a lift ticket for a party of five for a drop off. Revelstoke is down the road from Rogers Pass and this probably one the greatest back country spots in the world. Jackson is killer with it's out of bounds four pines run and off course being right down the road from the Teton Pass makes for some easily accessible back country runs. Maybe it's because the drive isn't as long for me but it's quite glorious being in the back bowls of vail during a killer pow day if they are running the lifts of course.

If you could pick anywhere to go with the group which resort would you pick?

I just hiked hutte to hutte across the alps so a cross country ski/ snow shoe tour of this terrain would be fabulous! Whister for an inbounds large group trip is always a home run!

What are some offseason activities you are interested in as a group?

SeaKayaking the Chesapeake from Elk neck state park to Smith Island is always awesome. I have five sea kayaks. Catamaran sailing my 17ft hobie sport, mountain biking, roller blading and Hiking.

Introduction

I board inbounds and back country for at least 1 months straight every year. I am searching for people who will join me in colorado for Jan-Feb. Locally I prefer to X/C ski PA. Carpooling up to VT is always cool with my AWD mini-van.
