Our Primary Focus and Goal
Spend time with social adventurers who enjoy a variety of diverse social activities that could include: Art and cultural events, classical music, symphonies, jazz music, movies, dining out, wine tastings, cooking and entertaining, picnics, gardening, walking and hiking, outdoor recreation, attending special events and a variety of in-home events (with limited numbers).
This group is for all of us who share our life situation chronologically, even though we don’t feel like it. You qualify if you have some gray hair, you OUGHT to have some gray hair, you’ve forgotten your real hair color, or the Men’s Hair Club has your number on speed dial. If you’re basically a kid who wants to go out and have fun playing with friends, then you'll fit in with our group. Singles and couples welcome..
Catherine (the organizer) has lived in the Research Triangle area since 1966. She has been a volunteer coordinator and event planner in the Raleigh area since the early 70s, including organizing and coordinating activities through Cary Junior Women's Club in the 70s, "10s and Friends" singles supper group in the 80s, plus many trips and outings to the NC Symphony to hear classical music, Raleigh Little Theater, Raleigh Ski and Outing Club (RSOC), and other business groups.
Meetup is NOT free. It costs the Organizer $15.00 a month to keep this site operational. In order to help defray the costs of running the site, an annual contribution of $5.00 or more is appreciated. However, please feel free to try us out by attending an event before giving Catherine your annual contribution.
To join the group, complete the introductory profile, post your photo (required for security), answer the questions posted, and submit your request to join. We look forward to meeting you!
Important additional information:
I reserve the right to remove members from this meetup group for any reason including soliciting our members or any unwanted contact - such as unwanted comments on their profiles or sending emails to people you have not already met and developed a rapport with. Our members have the right to report any behavior that is considered offensive or unwanted. We believe in treating each other with respect and respecting each other's personal space and privacy. A good way to gauge a person's authenticity is to meet in person at one of our events where there is no pressure. Second Half meetups are monitored in order to provide a relaxed atmosphere for our members.
