The Pit (http://www.thepit-raleigh.com/) is a much talked about whole hog, pit cooked, eastern North Carolina barbeque place in the warehouse district of downtown Raleigh. This isn't that Lexington style stuff, but authentic food from the gods. The pigs they cook are all raised in North Carolina using "free-range farming practices".
It is well known that pulled pork is the only foodstuff that tastes better than bacon so come join your fabulous friends in a fun evening of food nirvana. (Yes, I found a thesaurus (http://thesaurus.com/).)
