350CT Day of Deep Discussion and Action Planning – June 15, 2019, 9 am–6 pm, TBA Old Saybrook CT
In response to increasingly dire climate science reports and projections, as well as a burgeoning political “awakening” to the crisis, we will gather for a full day of review and consideration of current writings and the most up-to-date data related to climate threats and trends.
Our focus will be on (a) the impacts that most threaten CT and New England and (b) the counter strategies that can diminish those impacts or that can be launched in our region. The intended outcome of the day's work is a campaign and plan of action for 350CT that we can roll out across the state quickly and effectively. We will also consider our role in other movements, especially the youth movement that is gaining momentum and has called for a Day of Action on September 20, 2019.
Attendance will be limited to 20 people, due to space constraints. PLEASE REGISTER BY JUNE 2 by calling Nancy at[masked].
Participants are required to commit to the full session (9am-6pm) and to have read the background writings that will be sent out upon registration, along with location information. Carpooling will be encouraged, as well as “shuttling” from a nearby parking lot due to limited space at the retreat location. Lunch and snacks will be provided; donations cheerfully accepted!
