Multi Group Manhattanhenge Midtown History Tour Then Party

This event is being sponsored by and several Meet ups. The number of RSVP's below reflect only a portion of those attending. Please only sign up for this event if you are serious about coming. The history tour happens even if the sun is not visible.

Manhattanhenge – sometimes referred to as the Manhattan Solstice – is a circumstance which occurs twice a year, during which the setting sun aligns with the east–west streets of the main street grid on the island of Manhattan. Join us for this amazing celestial occurrence as well as a fun historic tour of midtown. If you are a native New Yorker or new to the city there is so much we take for granted or never notice as we navigate through midtown Manhattan.  There is so much history, hidden secrets and fun facts that await you when you join this tour as you explore and socialize with other fun people from NYSN and other groups!  Our tours are geared for New Yorkers, not tourists.  They are designed to open your eyes to the things that you walk past everyday!

We begin near 34th Street with amazing old photos of the original Penn Station that was even bigger and more beautiful than Grand Central.  We’ll wind our way through the streets with stops along the way where your tour guide will show you pictures from the late 18 and early 1900’s plus share the historical significances of each location.  The tour ends at Rockefeller Center and lasts about 90 minutes.

You will be blown away by the hidden secrets, fun facts and old photos of what was then and what is now.

Following the tour the group will go to a local tavern for food and drink or you can head down to our outdoor party at The Seaport Bar at The South Seaport.

What to wear: Dress casual/business casual. Wear comfortable shoes

What to Bring: maybe a bottle of water for the walk and your sense of adventure!

What to Expect: 10-20 fun and friendly people who are looking to make new friends and learn a little about the city

The tour will be given if sunny or cloudy

I've never done this! I hope I can get out of work and uptown that fast. If not, see you at the party.
