What skill level are you with 3d printing/modeling?

I started building my Ultimaker on Jan 24. It took about 30 hours to build. I'm now getting good PLA prints. I plan modifying the printer to also be able extrude pastes, like clay, frosting, etc. I've fiddled around with Tinkercad, SketchUp, Blender, 123D Design, MeshLab, etc. but haven't gotten facile with any of them yet.

What project(s) are you currently working on (doesn't have to be 3d printing)?

Aside from 3D printing, I' playing around with Arduino boards and other electronics, with and eye toward sensor technology and robotics.

What would you like to make in our meetup?

Not sure yet.

I retired from traditional employment in July 2012 (I was mostly coding trading systems and such). I'm now free to pursue some of the great passions in my life; classical music, world travel, and making stuff. I just built an Ultimaker DIY kit.
