Use of intelligently connected devices and systems to leverage data gathered by embedded sensors and actuators in machines and other physical objects. In fact, any of the physical objects connected with network.

One of the main reasons the IoT is becoming more and more prevalent in the technology world today is because it is truly integrated within existing technology. At its core, the IoT is not about coming up with spectacularly game-changing products, but it’s about taking existing products (an umbrella, a thermometer, etc.) and making them “smart” by integrating them within mobile applications, the internet, and other devices.
