Onboarding with EdTech - HYBRID

Details
HR managers and study advisors use the term onboarding to refer to the process of getting new employees or students situated in their new roles. UX designers use the term to describe the process of getting users comfortable with tools or features that are new to them. In this first EdTech Meetup, you’ll be onboarded to the event series and get a chance to experience examples of Learning Technology solutions which enable onboarding first hand.
This is an education event, which also means that we are learning with you! We are going to try everything out with and for you!
The event will be hybrid with a maximum of 25 on-site guests and additional online participants via https://www.twitch.tv/efiport_gmbh

HCI design for capturing and transferring skills
Jo Karajanov, efiport
From pen and paper to iPads and iPens, we've used our environment for extended memory and cognition for centuries. Today, we have a plethora of means and options to act as our extended mind, coupled with the difficulty of deciding what to use in order to capture behaviour and cognitive tasks we would like to transfer to our new (and existing) employees. At efiport, we think this comes down to advanced (game) design for human-computer interaction. We have been exploring methods of capturing and training skills in this way, and would like to share some of our approaches and findings with you.

Soft-Skills Onboarding of Young Talents
Marina Eckert, Sklls
Starting a new job is challenging and can lead to early stage turnovers: Young talents are faced with novel situations and problems. HR Innovation Award winner Sally by Sklls supports your talents during trial period. For them it looks like they are chatting with a digital helper that asks clever questions. That way, Sally enables them to reflect on their behaviour, solve their problems and develop their soft skills on the job. How does that work? This question will be answered and a use case presented by Marina Eckert, psychologist & founder of the Ed-Tech start-up Sklls.
