3rd annual Ohio tail of the dragon run in SE Ohio

I'm leading a ride down Ohio's version of the "Tail of the Dragon". This will be my third year doing this event. This is a challenging ride with some Interstate travel. Plan on being out most of the day and putting about 280 miles on the scoot or more.. Primarily Rt 250 coming back. We'll have lunch in Woodsfield, OH. The changing of the leaves should make the ride scenic. This will be a ride I video for Youtube.

I guess Darryl & Mike earned their Wings following me through the Dragon. I could not lose them! LOL. This was another great ride down 536. My horn not working turned out to be a loose wire. Fixed.. Video coming soon..

    Terry
Thanks for taking time to set this ride up! It was everything I could hope for and more. I will go through the 110 turns on 236 over and over all winter. The company was fantastic and the sun even came back out after I stopped in the rain to put on gear. Terry the final total for the day garage and back to the garage was 355 miles. Thanks again!

Thanks for leading this Terry. The ride was one of the best ever! The roads were in pretty good condition with not too much gravel in the turns. I can tell because I didn't skid out and crash! The weather was perfect except for the last few minutes and then it was only a minimal amount of rain.

No problem Ron. It appears the weather looks to be great. Not too many opportunities left for these types of rides before the cold really sets in.

A photography job came up on the day of the ride so I will not be able to attend. Be safe and have a great ride.

Terry, rode 536 in...like the first week of August, I think. The rode was not in very good shape. Lots of patches, potholes and gravel. As you know from having ridden it, even in good shape it's a very challenging road. When I picked it up at the north end, off 78, there was a sign that the road was going to be closed for construction (I'm hoping that meant resurfacing) starting the next week. Maybe they're done with that. If you should get down there and find that it is still under construction, consider 255, which you can pick up about three miles south of Woodsfield running to the east off 800. It runs sort of parallel to 536 through very similar terrain. Maybe not quite as twisty as 536, but very, very good. Road surface is excellent as of two weeks ago. Took my brother, who was visiting (on his bike) from CO and who has been riding for something like 40 years, and he was very impressed.

Oh, and yes, still have the 650, although on Tuesday I might be heading over to Erie PA to test ride one of the new Indians. I've assured my wife there's not much chance of me falling in love, though...and she assured me that any such emotions would meet with a virtual certainty of going unrequited, anyway. I do, though, have a dollar bet with my brother that I would win by being the first (of the two of us) to lay eyes, in person, on one of these bikes. I could definitely use the dollar.

Take pictures. I'd like to see it.. I also remember that little valley on 255 before it merges into 536. I don't recall that view however..

Let's hope the weather cooperates. The past two years I've been lucky and this ride was enjoyable, scenic and a long one!
