"A universal theology is impossible, but a universal experience is not only possible but necessary. It is this experience toward which the course is directed." (ACIM Manual for Teachers)
Designed to correct perception and lead to a universal experience of knowledge, A Course In Miracles has been translated into 23 languages, is referenced and utilized by many of today's most reknowned spiritual teachers, and has inspired countless books and curriculums based on its teachings. But it can be a difficult book to grasp. It is lengthy, the writing is abstract, and its use of Christian terminology alienates many.
And yet it has become one of the most influential spiritual books of today. Join us as we dive into it, and are led to understand its principles against the backdrop of our own personal experiences and insights. Beginner as well as advanced Course students are welcome. We'll start with a short meditation, and then use a reading from the Course as an entry point into our time together. Donations are gratefully accepted. (Note: I have not enabled use of the "Chip In" button on the Meetup page. If you would like to make a donation, your contribution will be gratefully accepted at the meetup gathering.)
Bringing a copy of the book is helpful, but not necessary. Recommended (but again not necessary) is the combined volume that includes the three supplements (Clarification of Terms; Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process, and Practice; The Song of Prayer), available online from The Foundation For Inner Peace at acim.org.
