Come play volleyball at the Exeter YMCA and combine fun with a dash of exercise. It's a great way to brighten a Thursday evening, get out of the house, and meet people.
Please RSVP if you are coming. If your plans change, just update your RSVP.
LEVEL OF PLAY
This event is the social, easy end of recreational volleyball, but enthusiasm and a good sense of humor are required. Newcomers are welcome. No negative behavior is tolerated.
Team size is a maximum of 6 people per team on the court at once, with any additional people rotating in. Games are played to 21 points. If we have a large turnout, then we rotate whole teams and play games to 11 or 15 points so no one will sit out for long.
WHAT TO BRING
Unlike the beach, sneakers are required at the Exeter YMCA. On the bright side, parking is free and no one comes by to lock the bathrooms just when we are getting started.
Although not required, if you are used to diving to the sand or going down on one knee for the ball, your knees will thank you if you invest in a pair of volleyball knee pads. You can buy them at most sporting goods stores.
COST AND RELEASE FORM
If you have a Regular Membership to the YMCA, then there is no additional charge for volleyball.
If you are not a regular member, then the fee is
$5/night for volleyball
Please pay at the front desk when you arrive. Also, the first time you come to the YMCA, you must fill out a release form.
FOOD AND DRINK
We may go out for food and drink afterward, but where we go may vary. Common destinations in Exeter include the following:
