A Small Group Intensive with Peter Block
• What we'll do The Intensive is an all-day learning experience and practices for people who want to deepen their understanding of engagement and the Six Conversations. This is an opportunity to learn from Peter Block how to take a greater role in bringing the ideas of engagement into your community. Please join us! We will explore: Matching the level of small group engagement with the purpose of gathering. Giving people the protocols to use small groups every place they go, especially people working on community projects. Creating a new normal for meetings. Too many meetings about community keep the speaker in front and citizens lined up in straight rows like sardines. We are calling an end to straight rows. Cost: $35 - includes lunch and your time and commitment. We ask that you bring a snack or beverage to share with the group. This helps to keep costs down. If you are new to the A Small Group conversations, we recommend you attend the next A Small Group monthly gathering or download and read the Civic Engagement booklet here. It will give you a context for what our intentions are for the day and enhance your experience. RSVP by November 8, click here or by contacting Elaine Hansen at [masked]. • What to bring • Important to know

    What we're about

If you are interested shifting the conversation from problem solving to possibilities, from blame to ownership, from barter to commitment, from lip service to authentic dissent, and from deficiencies to Gifts - this is our invitation. We've been meeting for 10 years. We place a high value on inclusion and do our best to be a warm welcoming space for the newcomer.

Peter Block began these meetings a few years after the 2001 Cincinnati race riots to shift the conversation. Peter is an author and international consultant.
