  • Full moon celebration!

    Bois de la Cambre

September 14th is full moon - let's come together and celebrate like in the good old days :P Sadly we can't make a fire but we can have a circle of candles :) This is a co-created event; there's no official facilitation so it's up to everyone to offer what they would like to create together. All traditions/lineages welcome! // To bring: blankets (that can get dirty; you can bring a plastic bag to put underneath), drinks/snacks, candles, instruments, songs, prayers, intentional games...whatever you want! Meeting location: at the bottom of the lake. We'll then move to the exact location in the woods close by (on the right hand side when you come from Av. Luise/Legrand). If you arrive late you'll probably hear us ;) Event location: https://goo.gl/maps/gM4YC3MeVmjNApAb8

  • Kirtan (devotional singing)

    Bois de la Cambre

A kirtan, also known as a mantra or bhajan, is a very simple song, often in call and response format, with only one verse that is repeated many times. The word Kirtan is also used for the collective practice of singing these songs together. These songs are often in Sanskrit, and the repetitive nature of the song means that they have a meditative effect. They are a sacred sound formula that has a specific focus and energy with meaning in every syllable, often containing transformative healing energy. When we come together to sing these songs the aim is to connect to our hearts and through the singing we also feel connected to each other. These songs can bring us into such a deep heart connection that we feel devotion: pure awareness, pure being, pure joy - our true nature. The aim is not to sing well, but to sing with our whole hearts - to sing with devotion; to life, to love, to spirit - however you perceive that which is worthy of ultimate humility and surrender. Lyrics will be provided but no song explanations - if you want to find out the meaning of the songs you can do so after the event. // Examples: https://soundcloud.com/stephanie-lisa-kelly To bring: A blanket to sit on, water, percussion instruments Location: Pin on the map - at the back of the field behind the lake (between Av. des Genets and Av. de Boitsfort) --> Message me for a link to the song sheet with/without chords *Please be on time as there will be further explanation at the start of the event. Thank you!

  • Cuddle movie night

    Longchamp

This is an opportunity to enjoy non-sexual consensual contact while watching a film. It may sound really odd but it's actually a very non-threatening way in which to practice healthy boundaries whilst carefully stretching our comfort zones in exploring the simple act of connecting through touch. Touch is crucial for our wellbeing and initiates the release of oxytocin and dopamine in the brain ("feel good" hormones), but we live in a chronically touch-deprived society where touch has been sexualised. This event helps us normalise touch by creating a very safe space (with rules ;)) in which we can be super mindful about our comfort levels with touch and practice owning what we want and don't want in a conscious, caring way. The communication piece is a valuable part of this exploration! We create safety by asking people to respect the "3 C's" : - Care (for yourself and each other) - Consent (always ask before touching) - Confidentiality (no speaking about anyone who was there afterwards) Please do not to come altered (drugs/alcohol) to this event; consent needs to be conscientious. Location: the exact address (5 minutes' walk from the indicated location) and phone number will be sent to attendees on the day itself. To bring: snacks/drinks, comfy clothes + cushion/blanket if you can - the floor has no carpet so we'll try to make it comfy with blankets and cushions. If you have questions or would like some reassurance feel free to PM me :)
