Our group exists to advance accessibility and inclusive design. Our goal is to bring together NYC's accessibility community to share ideas, best practices, and our experiences. If you're interested in accessibility and inclusive design then we want you in this group. We meet monthly, our previous presentations are all archived on YouTube (https://youtube.com/a11ynyc). In the age of COVID-19, it is the organizations that quickly move to establish robust virtual programs that are most successful and make the biggest difference for the community. Join Jonathon Epstein as he discusses the ways in which government agencies, non-profits and cultural institutions are working together to support their constituents. Jonathon will share success stories and best practices for sourcing and delivering needed resources and utilizing technology to provide remote services of all kinds that are as accessible and intersectional as possible.
Jonathon Epstein has been overseeing transition, employment, internship, volunteer, and recreation services for New York non-profits for over 13 years and received his MA in Disability Studies from CUNY’s School of Professional Studies. Jonathon currently supports adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities as an AHRCNYC Transition Developer, provides adaptive sports programming as InTandem’s Director of Operations, and advances accessibility at cultural institutions as a Museum, Arts and Culture Access Consortium Steering Committee Member.
