November 9 -12 Hiking & Yoga in Snowdonia National Park

  • Nov 9, 2012 · 6:00 PM

Exact address and directions will be sent later.

Hiking and Yoga is a great combination, we have had a few weekends in the past and they proved to be very popular.

Let's go to Snowdonia for one more of those!

Situated on the west coast of Britain covering 823 square miles of diverse landscapes, Snowdonia National Park is a living working area, home to over 26,000 people. As well as being the largest National Park in Wales, Snowdonia boasts the highest mountain in Wales, and the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as a wealth of picturesque villages like Betws y Coed and Beddgelert. Snowdonia is an area steeped in culture, and local history.
The jagged peaks of Snowdonia are among the most ancient rocks on earth. The local culture is also rather ancient, with music and poetry dating back to the Bronze Age. About 65% of the local population speak Welsh, one of the oldest spoken languages in Europe, as their mother tongue. Snowdonia also has:

* The highest peak in England and Wales
* Swallow Falls, the highest continuous waterfall in Wales
* The Fairy Glen, also called Fairy Falls, a green and mist filled gorge on the River Conwy
* Betws-y-Coed, a village named for prayers in the forest.
* At Morfa Dyffryn, the best nude beach in the UK

Though the mountains of Snowdonia rarely poke above 3000ft, they exhibit a rugged majesty quite out of keeping with that statistic. This tightly packed kernel of soaring cliff faces, jagged pinnacles and plunging waterfalls fills only a tiny corner of North Wales, and yet people find enough great hiking here to keep them coming back for years.

Climbing Mount Snowdon is one of the top adventures Wales has to offer! At 1,085 meters, Mount Snowdon is the tallest mountain in Wales (and taller than anything in England as well — only Scotland has higher peaks!), and climbing it is a rite of passage for adrenaline junkies in the UK.

We will be based in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, having rented 3 star hostel just for our group.

A former inn on the western edge of the Snowdonia National Park, the hostel nestles at the foot of Snowdon. It is ideally located for exploring the mountains, valleys and lakes of Snowdonia, or the nearby North Wales coastline.

We can hike up Snowdon right from the door step.

There is a Games room with pool table and table football, drying room, payphone.

Yoga can be fun and a very beneficial physical and mental work out.

Any level is welcome, classes will be tailored and suitable for the beginners and the advanced yoga practitioners as well.

Yoga sessions will take place in the morning and afternoon/evening.

The morning session will wake up and invigorate the body, targeting metabolism and body detoxification. While afternoon/evening yoga will be all about relaxation, emotional detachment and gentle stretching.

For those who don't fancy the great outdoors in the cold and wet, and never have enough of yoga, we have something extra to offer: a yogalicous yoga workshop!

2 hrs -of additional play around headstands or arm balances!

the workshop will be tailored as per your personal needs and interests so just let us know!

For any yoga related questions, please email aneta on [masked] and/or check

Price includes:

3 nights accommodation,

Kelvin means he's travelling up on Friday afternoon at 3pm'ish from Hillingdon Station, not Thursday!!!
I hope I've got a nice full minibus load to depart at 6pm precisely from Hammersmith (Piccadilly/District/Hamm & City/Circle line tube).
If we get off at 6pm, we might arrive by midnight. That will include a stop after Birmingham at about 3 hours into the journey.
Please get to Hammersmith at 5.30pm, so we can show you where the minibus is.
We won't be waiting for stragglers! Please shop for food in advance.
Please go to the toilet in advance. If you are working, please take your kit to the office in the morning and come directly after work.
We will meet at the Costa Coffee on the outside of the station (not the one inside the station shopping concourse).
Any questions call or text me on 07557 022393.
    Love and peace, John

Hi, I'd anyone driving back to London early on Monday? Have just found out that I need to be in work at 530pm! Thank you!

    November 7, 2012

  • Wil

Unfortunately it's looking very likely that I will be unable to make this trip. If anyone wants to buy my place, kindly contact me ASAP. I have no mini-bus space as i had intended to drive down, but there places still available on the minibus and you will need to sort that with Misha.
