• Sunday Morning Bike Ride

    Alameda Open Space Parking

    Everyone rides at their own pace and all types of bikes and skill levels are welcome. This is more about getting out of the house, getting some exercise and socializing above all else. We will meet on the Southwest corner of the Alameda Open Space parking lot. Just west of restrooms , near bench and hitching posts. Please be on time and ready to bike. Check your bike the day before and the morning BEFORE you leave the house. If you decide not to ride, change your RSVP so we don't wait for you. Usually Two groups: One group Road bikes riding on pavement. 2nd group Mountain bikes riding both on and off pavement.. Round trip usually 15 +or - miles. Details We will ride from the Alameda open space parking lot to the Old Town Farm. Both groups meeting at Old Town Farm to take a relaxing break, usually 45 minutes to an hour, for coffee and snacks before riding back to our starting point. AS the weather warms and we will start earlier and may change the route and distance a little. When the Old Town Farm is closed during the Winter, we will ride to the Flying Star Cafe on Rio Grande Blvd. and stop there for food and coffee when cold weather hits.     Join us and start the week with a refreshing loop workout hike and sunset in the foothills, followed by eats at the Tractor Brewing @ Tramway/Central. Look for an ORANGE cone near the trailhead. The goal for this hike is some good ol' fresh air, scenery, and exercise. The basic loop is simple and this is a good opportunity to unwind or workout as you choose. We'll start together and you're welcome to jog, run, meander or hike at your own pace. Keep in mind we'll head over to Tractor at the conclusion and won't linger to collect everyone first.     Running for Brews is a new Meetup Group that mixes fun (running/walking) with pleasure (beer). From the Running for the Brews Meetup Site: Running For Brews is for all of those who enjoy getting out and breaking a sweat amongst the company of other fellow runners and then topping it off with an awesome craft brew and some great conversation. We meet up at the O'Niell's (Heights location) every Tuesday night at 7pm and then proceed to run/walk a beautiful 5k route and then end our joyous run with awesome ice cold brews for all runners (or glass of H2O) and some great conversation!   • Self-Paced Cardio loop at ABQ Academy + post cardio Eats 'n Bevs @ 5-Star Burger

    Join us at the Albuquerque Academy for this weekly Cardio loop with a breathtaking view of the Sandias and Sunset. Feel free to bring a friend and walk, jog, hike, sprint, train intervals, or whatever makes your day! The loop is 3.3 miles (5k-ish) and you can run exclusively on dirt (for which my joints are grateful) or enjoy the asphalt trail and sidewalks instead. TO MEET UP: look for an ORANGE cone on my car directly North of the Taco Bell Drive-Thru. WALKERS, if you'd like to get an early start, feel free arrive at 7pm and I'm happy to show you the route on my phone. We cross at the light to start and finish at the NE corner of the Academy/Wyoming intersection. Post-workout, you're invited to join us at 5-star burger (a short walk across the parking lot) to visit over eats and bevs. READ THIS: please play well with others, drive safely, and enjoy your beverages responsibly.   • Tent Rocks carpool and post-hike lunch @ Trailhead

    Join us for an early carpool from ABQ to explore this popular hike a little less than an hour to the north. Post-hike we'll enjoy a sack lunch back at the trail-head before returning to ABQ. Trail is 3-4 miles round-trip (depending on side trail selection) with 630 feet of elevation gain at the end. Please bring: (1) $5 to help your driver with fuel and entry fee to the trailhead. (2) Trail snacks, WATER, electrolytes and a sack lunch for our return to the trailhead. (3) Sunscreen, hat, hiking shoes, and suitable layers for the weather.
