Return to San Ysidro Canyon
There is a geologically interesting canyon near the town of San Ysidro about 30 miles West of Albuquerque on Highway 550. We missed the main canyon the last time we went but this time we will go directly into the main canyon. This is a bit of rock scrambling and so you should be in decent shape to do this hike.
We should be able to walk through the entire canyon since there should be a minimal number of water pools now. Also, there should be no mosquitoes like last time. Below is a link to the San Ysidro trail area:
Please bring snacks and lunch. If anyone is interested, we can stop by the Baskin Robbins across Target after the hike for some ice cream. We'll meet at the far North end of the parking lot between the Target and Lowes parking lot.
