Join us for our talk with Gautam Chowdhry, Director of Product at LeagueApps and Andrew Conklin, Technical Architect for Conkuer LLC.

Abstract

Most of DC has done a stint in a sports league of some kind, whether you started out in t-ball at 10 or raised a glass with colleagues after kickball. In each case, someone was toiling away in the background making sure that you and your team members got emails on time, were ranked correctly in the playoffs, and enough t-shirts were on hand when you arrived at the first game. All of this organization rests largely on the technical set up in the background, designed to handle that volume of people and data. Gautam masterminded a sports league application for DC Bocce, then launched his knowledge of adult sports leagues into a career with LeagueApps.

Now working for LeagueApps, he has combined his love of sports and technology, his hobby, and his profession, to create the best league management software for sports organizers.

Abstract

Andrew will briefly touch on how District Karaoke uses a web application to manage schedules, standings, song lists, brackets, and votes. He will then go into story mode on how the community transitioned to Social Identification when voting on team match ups. This brief presentation will also express how a single developer can make progress through unknowns to deliver a positive real world outcome for a client: the small business owner.
