Corte Madera to San Francisco - Tiburon loop (40 to 50 miles approx)

Let's ride to SF!

We'll meet at the Davis Park & Ride on Mace Blvd and carpool to Corte Madera where we will park at Macy's The Village 1400 Redwood Highway, Corte Madera, CA

Leaving from The Village at Corte Madera Macy's, heading toward Tiburon, crossing toward the bike path and headed through Sausilito and over the GG Bridge to the Marina Green area and Fort Mason.  We can stop at the Marina Green Safeway for a deli sandwich or snacks.

Double back over the GG Bridge and toward Tiburon, take a different path and into the town of Tiburon for a snack, before looping around Tiburon on Paradise Road.  Slight climbs and rollers, but great views.

Back to the starting point, total about 50 miles.  Not bad with the breaks and stop for lunch.

Route details

Should be a great ride and we should be able to escape the heat of the valley!

Let's try to have the carpools figured out before we leave. Make a comment if you need a ride.

Hi all, Saturday the high temperature in San Francisco is expected to be a toasty 66 degrees. With that, I wouldn't be wearing the short shorts and sleeveless kit! (Tom)

It has been widely stated that Mark Twain once said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco". As cool as a quote that is, It's never been proven that Mark Twain actually said it. However, George Carlin once said, "Weather forecast for tonight: dark."

So, wear layers and easily removable arm warmers! Maybe a hat and put a warm water bottle tucked away somewhere to keep your innards warm.

Bring snacks and water for the road. We can make a sandwich stop in SF near the Marina Green. There is a Safeway very close by. Lots of other choices also.

Camera's or phone cams are good! Lots of photo ops. I like taking pictures of the Asian Tourists taking pictures...Especially when I photo bomb in the back somewhere!

    See you guys soon!

Chris, it won't be a fast pace. Too much to look at. We will go as fast as the group wants. There will be some traffic through town and up to the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge should be open for cyclist on the west side, pedestrians are usually on the east side. It won't be fast and will be regrouping along the way. It is a nice ride into and out of San Francisco. We will be along the Marina Green area and the Presidio.

That sounds great, Don. I've ridden a similar route before and it is a gorgeous ride all around. Sausalito, Tiburon, Marin, etc. Looking forward to it!
