Abu Dhabi Photographers initiative is to help improve your photography skills.. it doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, amateur or professional photo passionate. ADP supports its members by organizing training meetup’s based on photography, organizing photography exhibitions and photography field trips.

Abu Dhabi Photographers also hosts several photography competitions with honoring and rewarding the competitors and exhibiting the winning photos.

Membership Benefits:

Free entry to regular group meetup’s.

Free entry into 3 themed photography Competitions, run throughout the year, where winner’s will have their winning images printed & displayed at a photography exhibition hosted by ADP.

Entitlement to enter ADP’s ‘Amateur Photographer of the Year’ Competition (small fee applies), giving you a chance to win some great prizes.

Photography Group Only Events: some are free; some may incur a small fee.

By joining Abu Dhabi Photographers you agree to the terms and conditions laid out below:

You are over the age of 14 years old.

You abide by the rules at every group meetup.

While taking photos at group meetup, consideration to the other members of the group is more important than your photography. All members just have as much right to be there as you do. Being polite and courteous can go a long way.

During our regular meetup’s you must be aware of UAE Law for photographing people, buildings & places. Abu Dhabi Photographers will not be responsible for any causes & damages.

Abu Dhabi Photographers membership card is limited within group activities and it does not take accreditation of press value.

If you enter any photography competition organized by Abu Dhabi Photographers, rules of the competition must be strictly adhered to.

Any breach of these terms and conditions may result in the termination of your membership and associated benefits. If this action is deemed appropriate, no refunds will be given.

Membership is not transferable.

HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Heritgae Festival & Photography Competition

Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Heritage Festival

8 am - Departure from Abu Dhabi 9 am - Arrival to Sweihan, The Guest Tent. The first day of the festival, here we can take pictures of the beauty camels taking part in the beauty contest. HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed will be present at the Tent. + we will go to see the beauty camels closer + we will go to visit a traditional outdoor Bedouin marker where people from Oman, KSA, Bahrain gather to sell their handicraft and showcase their work. 12.30 pm - Lunch at the Guest Tent, Arabic tea and coffee 2 pm – Start of the Milking Competition, we can take pictures of milking the camels, baby camels… 3 pm - Awarding Ceremony for the beauty competition at the main Tent, we will see how the winners are painted with Safran and how HH Sheikh Sultan is awarding each came owner. WE can follow the winner camels with their owners. 4.30/5.00 pm - "Souk Shaabi", traditional market visit, meeting with Emiratis, Emirati handicraft, "Ayalla" and "Nashaat" performance (Emirati dance by women and men), children and adults camel ride etc. + you can ride a horse + you can ride the camel + you can take pictures of falcons, handicraft, traditional dances, museum items and make some ready nice encounters. 6.00 pm – departure to Abu Dhabi The bus to depart from Emirates Heritage Club, Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi. This is a free parking there PN. This is a free to join event and all costs relating to transportation, food and on location facilities are sponsored by the festival organizers. Outdoor Desert Portraits

Outdoor Portrait If you want to practice your outdoor portrait photography skills, or just experience what outdoor portrait lighting is all about. Outdoor photography helps your creative possibilities by allowing you to try positives of natural light. This workshop will begin with an introduction to outdoor photography and how to set up your camera. We will demonstrate lighting techniques with live model. Members will then have the opportunity to build their own lighting setup and photograph the beautiful model. This workshop will cover: Outdoor lighting terminology, lighting equipment, strobe lighting, speed-lights & Light modifiers (umbrellas, soft-boxes, etc.), Reflectors. Camera settings for outdoor lighting, light metering, Cable and wireless sync for strobes. Outdoor lighting white balance, Light setups for 1, 2, and 3 light portraits and Lighting tips & trick. Recommended Prerequisite We recommend that all members attending this workshop have a good understanding of manual exposure. If you do not have a good grasp on manual exposure, we recommend that you attend our Photography 102 (Manual Exposure) Workshop before attending this workshop. What to Bring For this workshop, members should bring their DSLR camera, lenses (50 mm or higher is recommended), fully charged batteries, memory cards, and a notebook to take notes. Beverages, Snacks are provided for free. The Cost: We always try to keep the costs of our workshops as low as possible. The fee for this meetup is AED 500. Please RSVP for this meetup if you plan on attending and confirm your RSVP by paying the cost to any of the organizer.
