The person who took over this group is getting good use out of it. Good. However, I wish they were using it for the original reason I founded the group, which is to explore changing education. Given that the group is now focused on general entrepreneurship, I'd like to see the name changed to more accurately reflect the current use and to preserve the ability for those focused on creating better learning environments free to use the Disrupt_Ed as it was intended. -Lisa BL

It takes a while for people to trust each other enough to share their more radical thoughts and dreams. We're too new to do that yet. I hope we have enough repeat attendees to develop a serious Bay Area cohort of effective disrupters. At the same time, we need to stay connected enough to conventional educational institutions to facilitate change from both inside and outside established institutions. We need to come to some collective understandings about the relationship between individual learning and new institutional structures which can support that learning optimally. Our home-schooling families are a great resource in this regard.

Really appreciate Lisa & putting in the effort to build and grow a community of outside-the-system reformers.

I like the format of speakers and Q&A along with ample time for mingling.
