This will be my first time coming out to this group. I am willing to bring my laptop (currently has Windows on it) and some Linux iso files on DVD to convert my laptop to a *nix machine, if folks are interested in helping, that would be cool. :)

I'd recommend sticking with CentOS for now. ArchLinux requires more heavy-lifting during the install, including a lot of command-line configuration. I'd wait until you're more familiar with Linux before seeing if your needs require migrating to Arch. You're welcome to bring both DVDs if you'd like, but CentOS looks a bit more welcoming for a newcomer.

I am sold on CentOS at this point. I think it fits for what I am looking for. I want to become familiar with a distro that is used in business (and this is very close to RHEL). I run VMware Player on my desktop, so I can play with other distros at home as well, but for the install on my laptop, CentOS sounds great. See you at 3 today. I'll bring the ISO for CentOS 7. Thanks again.
