What we're about
It's not easy caring for someone with ALS (a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's Disease), and one of the biggest challenges is taking care of yourself so that you can take care of your loved one. We are a group of local ALS caregivers who meet once a month in South Austin to provide mutual support, share experiences and insights, and learn how to better take care of ourselves. Our group remains open to members whose loved one has died and continues to seek connection and grief support.
We meet on the first Thursday of the month from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at a private therapy office on Bee Caves Rd. in Westlake. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information about our meeting location.
There is no cost to attend, although donations are accepted to cover basic expenses. Jinji Willingham, a local psychotherapist, facilitates our meetings as a community service. Meetings are for caregivers only and focus on caregiver support.
