Softball season is here! We play two games, maybe 3 every Sunday. We also sometimes play on Friday during the summer.
Now into our third decade, this is a friendly game that has become a Central Park fixture with a loyal following. The games are organized by members of the Appalachian Mountain Club, founded in 1876, and is the nation's oldest outdoor recreation and conservation group.
For info on the local Appalachian Mountain Club and its activities and trips, see this link: http://www.amc-ny.org AMC membership fees are $40 for individuals, $60 for families, and only $25 for people under age thirty and over age 69.
Don’t worry if you feel rusty, or if you have never played before. We encourage a fun, not overly competitive game, where everyone can participate. We even supply the equipment (bats, balls, bases - please bring your own glove).
Adults of all ages and experience levels play with us.
We play every Sunday from late April through early Autumn (and beyond). We meet at 10:30 AM. The first game starts at 11. Then we take a short break and play our second game, finishing by 3. The fee is $5 on permit days, for convenience please pay to Miho at email@example.com online via PayPal* or Venmo @mihoizu, or cash on game day.
If the forecast temperature for mid-day is 45 degrees or higher, then we will play!
In case of poor weather and field conditions: The ball fields could be closed. Please call the park hotline on game days to confirm field openings: 212-628-1036, extension 331 (for North Meadow dates), 332 (for Heckscher Fields dates), or 330 (for Great Lawn dates).
