Planned route is Washburn (white blazes) to Mt Taurus, then across the Notch trail (blue), connect to the Brook trail (red), and the final return via the Cornish trail (blue). Then the final return back to Cold Spring. There are some steep and steady climbs in the beginning and I hope to find that little view point. Mt Taurus summit does not have any views, but the summit is at 1421’ elevation and the proposed lunch spot.
Expect mixed terrain with some rocky sections, a handful of views, and a nice paved return with a detour to the old ruins.
Bring 2L water, snacks, lunch, sun and bug protection. Recommend boots due to rocks, but whatever your sneakers/closed toed shoes should be fine. There might be a limited map at the trailhead and maybe even a volunteer dog - a girl can dream.
At Cold Spring we can have a second lunch and ice cream.
