What we're about

Dedicated to practices of mindfulness, A Mindful Life offers facilitated groups and classes in Maplewood, NJ and now online on Zoom. Whether you are a longtime meditator or new to the practice, you are welcome to join us. Together, we can practice staying grounded in the present moment by stopping, focusing on our breathing, and observing our thoughts and feelings without habitually reacting to them. We can gain space and clarity. In the meditations, there is an emphasis on cultivating loving-kindness and greater compassion (for ourselves and others). By continually practicing with the support of the community, our commitment to living mindfully is strengthened and supported. As a group, we practice mindful speech and listening. The practice is influenced by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, Tara Brach, and Sharon Salzberg.
