We'll be celebrating our 1st anniversary. I hope you like cake.

At AWE, one of the more surprising presentations was given by Looking Glass Factory (https://lookingglassfactory.com). They'll be presenting the
Looking Glass, which will be released the week before we meet.

Looking Glass Factory is a team of inventors, engineers, game devs, and artists - based in Brooklyn and Hong Kong - chasing the dream of the hologram.

The Looking Glass - a universal holographic canvas - is a new class of genuinely three-dimensional display that combines the benefits of volumetric and lightfield displays into a single system. Groups of people can now see and reach into the holographic worlds that live inside the glass walls of a Looking Glass, without VR or AR headgear.

Looking Glass Factory will be demoing how their Unity SDK works along with other already-built magical applications inside of the Looking Glass.

Don’t get left behind. The third dimension awaits!

We'll also have these short presentations:

Columbus the Hero? An Augmented Reality Installation // presented by Executive Producer Glenn Cantave
The book/installation is comprised of a series of images that relate to the story of Christopher Columbus. The narrative ties Columbus' influence it to the genesis of European colonization, the genocide of[masked] million indigenous people, the Columbian slave trade of 12.5 million people from Africa, and ties the alteration of this history to contemporary issues that black and brown people face in 2018. Each image transforms into an augmented reality animation with the through our smartphone app As a 10-second animation loops, a 30-second spoken word poem and soundtrack simultaneously plays. We have partnered with David Eisenbach, Professor of History at Columbia University to ensure that our work is academically verifiable.
