UCA Observatory Night

Join our own Dr. Scott Austin, Associate Professor of Astronomy and Physics, and Director of Astronomical Facilities at UCA, for a look at the heavens (the REAL heavens)!

Between 8:30pm and 10:30pm, if the sky is mostly clear, the UCA Observatory will be open to the public for views of planets, stars, star clusters, and nebulae through the 14-inch aperture telescope. Stairs to the observatory are located in the front lobby of Lewis Science Center.

It was flawed by being too successful. There were just too many people in a small hot place. Otherwise, it was interesting and the first time, for me, to use such a large telescope.

The event was open to the public (not strictly a free thinker event) so difficult to know exactly how many will be in attendance.

Larry, thanks for your review. Helped me not feel so bad about not bring able to attend. Had not been feeling well and to have gone then been in a confined in a hot space would NOT have been a good thing! Besides, I did my part making more room for others

There's a planetarium show in two weeks. Starts at 7 sharp and seating is limited so getting there early is the ticket or so I'm told.

Anyone care to carpool from my house in west Little Rock (Echo Valley, not far from Cantrell/I430 interchange)?
