Join us for a very special "Tech on Tap" happy hour at the Branch for Arts and Culture to celebrate the beginning of the Inventure$ Conference (June 5-7).

We're excited to welcome Anna Koop and Tara Petrie from AMII as our special guest speakers to tell stories of their favourite Machine Learning mishaps and AI fails.

Pop by after work for some FREE beer, try your hand at our VR game "Fun Slingers," enjoy the tunes of DJ Joash Charles and network with fellow tech enthusiasts and conference goers as we celebrate one of Calgary's biggest tech and innovation conferences.

Following the reception, join us as we head to the official kick-off celebration for Inventure$. FACTORY Party takes over three levels of the historic Clarence Block building on Calgary's Stephen Avenue.

Gather together a diverse community of bright minds and creators for a night of interactive art, technology, curated cocktails, local craft beers, and - of course - music!

Anna Koop, MSc., Senior Scientific Advisor, Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii):

Anna has a passion for both the science of computational intelligence and the art of human education. She is highly sought after for her insights on the fundamentals of AI, applications of AI and ethical/societal considerations surrounding AI. She continues to research how artificial systems can adapt to changing environments. Anna completed her Masters under world-renowned Dr. Richard Sutton at the University of Alberta.

Tara Petrie, MSc., Machine Learning Educator, Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii):

Tara is driven by the joy of sharing math and science with others. She works to enhance machine intelligence knowledge for businesses and individuals. She received her master of science degree in mathematics from Simon Fraser University with a focus on discrete math and combinatorics.
